Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.
… Psalm 89:9
Looking over the raging waves of the Atlantic Ocean, the powerful sounds as the waters rush and rise and pound upon the shore, I stand amazed. So it was when the Israelites stood between the “devil and the deep blue sea”. With their human eyes, there wasn’t a way out. I still marvel today how they could so easily have forgotten the many wonders they and the Egyptians saw in Egypt, the wonders that made Pharoah begin to realize he was fighting a losing battle. And he lost this last one. Profoundly.
He is God over the seas, over the tempestuous storms and rages in our lives.
Be still and know He is still God.
