The Heart of Worship

In the middle of worship session at church, I felt power moving strongly in response to the pouring words of adoration. I found myself enveloped in a vacuum within, but separate from, the physical space I was in. The feeling was excitement, peace, calm, serenity, safety, assurance, can-do. A heavenly space on Earth. And suddenly, a thought, “Oh, that I would be found doing exactly this when He comes. No doubt in my mind I’ll be leaving with Him.”

And I heard a voice say, “You SHOULD. Because EVERYTHING you do should be a worship offering to me.”

And yes – you see, there is no set time for worship. Every second in a life is worship. At work, in offering your services to others, when you’re packaging your products, when you cook, when you watch a film, on a queue, in your interactions,…everything you do, be mindful that you’re in worship.

The question is, to who?

This is the key to the five virgins that were found ready and waiting…and the five that were not.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for people,”

Colossians 3:23 NIV/NLT

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God–this is your true and proper worship.”

Romans 12:1 NIV

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-19 NKJV

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”

Revelations 4:11 KJB
