My Maker, My Husband

I’ve always loved Isaiah 54. The first time I was introduced to this chapter, I had travelled for a project many years ago – about 15 years ago. I was going through a most trying time and this chapter provided comfort. Over the years, I have gone back to this chapter time and time again. What does this chapter speak to me:

  • Even though I see no reason to rejoice in the physical, I should sing. This is telling me to show forth my faith. “Paul & Silas: they prayed, they sang, the Holy Ghost came down.”
  • Even though I haven’t seen results manifested in the physical, there are more results than the best that others have already received.
  • In faith, I should make room for this more; I should not spare, I should go all out.
  • What I have will be so much, I shall break forth on all sides; it shall be so much, it will cause the desolate places to be inhabited. Where there was nothing, there shall be so much! (Desolate: barren, laid waste, deserted, uninhabited)
  • What am I afraid of? I shall not be ashamed, no-one can put me to shame. Was I shamed before? Oh – it matters not, because I shall forget that shame, and not even remember it anymore.
  • For my Maker, the Lord of Hosts, my Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, The God of the whole earth – He it is who is my Husband. Husband to protect, comfort, and provide for me. And cause me to be fruitful/productive. To be my companion.
  • The mountains shall depart, the hills removed, but His kindness shall not leave me, and I shall remain at peace ALWAYS.
  • My children will grow up knowing God, He shall teach them. Their peace shall be GREAT. What else could a mother ask for?
  • I shall be established in righteousness: I cannot be oppressed, will not fear, nor be terrorized. These flee from me.
  • Whoever gathers against me shall fall for my sake – for God will not condone this gathering even though they try.
  • You know the knives, guns, all manner of weapons? They were made by the hands of men/women. All men/women were created by God, no matter how good or evil. He sees everything we make on earth. As all weapons are made, He sees the future of those weapons. And He orders the future. NO WEAPON FASHIONED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER!
  • I have the right to condemn every tongue that speaks against me in judgment.
  • For it is my heritage being a servant of the Lord.
